Safety is of paramount importance to the Romina brand. We have made it a priority to include the safest, most innovative technologies into the manufacturing process of our baby furniture.

All of our products are periodically tested and certified to ensure their safety in your home. We incorporate the latest and most efficient technologies, which include safe-closing drawers, anti-tipping systems, and more. All of our furniture meets and exceeds all standards set forth by the Consumer Product Safety Commission, and every piece in our collection is GREENGUARD Gold certified.

We go above and beyond CPSC and ASTM requirements for safety, and all Romina furniture exceeds the GREENGUARD Gold standard to provide you with peace of mind.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) considers paint safe when it has toxic materials under 300 parts per million (ppm). In order for a company to claim low toxicity, it must have no more than 90 ppm.

There are a lot of brands that make this claim, but none go as far as Romina to manufacture truly safe baby furniture.

We randomly test our entire product line with the help of UL Laboratories every three months. When you buy a piece of Romina Furniture, you can count on:

Anti-Detachment Drawers

Curious little hands can quickly figure out how to open drawers, and without the right hardware, those drawers could come crashing down on your child’s head. We make sure that won’t happen in your home by equipping our drawers with the most advanced anti-detachment technology available on the market. Drawer boxes are secured with high-density carbon polymer triggers which must be simultaneously pulled in order for the drawer to release. This operation requires a certain level or strength and hand coordination which is not within a toddler’s, or even a kindergartner’s, ability.

Drawers are constructed out of beech wood, which is a high-density hardwood that is both strong and heavy. We give it shape and purpose, enabling you to take advantage of its strength and durability, while utilizing the safest German-made anti-detachments systems. This feature prevents even the most curious child from pulling out the drawers.

All parents should supervise their children around large furniture, but we promise that your Romina drawers won’t detach or tip over if your child pulls them.

Anti-Tipping Systems

Romina drawer systems offer full extension for maximum convenience. That also means they can look a bit like steps to a curious toddler, who can then attempt to climb to the top.

Not only do our drawer systems are equipped with anti-detachment technology, our products are designed to mimize the risk of accidents and ensure they don't tip over easily. Nonetheless, any furniture can be tipped over this is why you should awlays be safety-proactive and secure your dressers, chests and all case goods to the wall stud.

All Romina “case goods” (nightstands, dressers, chests, bookcases, armoires, etc.) include a three-way wall-anchoring system that can be used on brick, sheetrock, and wooden walls. We strongly recommend that you use these systems with all your furniture in the house, and only open one drawer at a time so that you can limit the amount of risk your little adventurers are exposed to.

Hardwood Mattress Support

Inner material properties cause metal elements to deteriorate over long time use and this is why some mattress supports which rely on spring tension tend to loosen up and in turn case the mattress to sink in the center. We care about our (little) customers’ comfort from Day 1 to Day 1,000,001 this is why we utilize a wooded platform for mattress support. Just like all our furniture, this mattress support system is made from select hardwood with superior consistency and resistance. Soft-Close Drawers with No Finger Pinching

Our German-made drawer and door systems are equipped with a safe-close feature. In order to extend the drawer past the five-percent extension point, a bit of extra pulling strength is required. This additional pull force may not be noticeable for the average adult, but it makes it difficult for an infant or a toddler to pull out a drawer. In addition, the safe-close feature also prevents drawer bouncing when pushed in vigorously.

Our drawers and doors are equipped with a hydraulic soft-closing mechanism, which is a smooth closing motion that allows children plenty of time to retract their hand or fingers, and it prevents slamming.

In addition, drawers are equipped with tipping resistance hooks that are mounted on the backside of the each box. In the unlikely event that a drawer latch system is disengaged, it will not tip over and injure your child. With this backup safety feature, you never have to worry about your furniture causing any harm to your child.
